That's not what I said. The date of Apple's patent application sets the line for prior art to be brought forth showing that the patents was not the first application of the technologies involved. If in three years, nobody come forth with proof of prior art then it's probably a valid patent. Just because the patent application gives someone else the idea to beat Apple to market does not mean their product constitutes prior art.
